I just got such a camera, and I already see it as one of my work horses.
The Konica Auto S has a Hexanon 47mm/1.9 lens with a built-in lens hood.
It has manual exposure control but needs a battery for the meter. Do you have the manual for this camera, or maybe you can advise me on the battery type for it. Thanks for any help.

I found a scanned copy of the Auto S2 manual online somewhere. Sorry, I don't recall where I found it. Let me know if you can't find it yourself and I will email a copy to you. Fair warning, though, that it's about 3.5 MB worth of scanned images.

Thanks, Randy. I would like a copy of the manual even if the file is large.

I just checked the camera out again. The aperture opens only to waht looks like F 16 and the meter moves without a battery in the camera. I hope that onc I place a matching battery in it, the camera will operate fine.

Kim: The files do not open when I click on them. What is the problem?

I too cannot open the files, either when I type pentax or "pentax".

The battery should be the mercury PX625 type. A modern alkaline 625 replacement will fit and work, but your meter may be off by 1 or 2 stops due to the voltage difference.

Pass word is "Pentax", case sensitive and you must use Acrobat Reader version 5 or later because of the compression.

Joe: I don't see a place for enetring this password. When I click on any file, it tries to open it, but it can't. I even lowered the privacy and the security settings on my pc to allow it to happen.

Raid - I suspect this is the problem, open your Acrobat Reader and see what version you have (or just go ahead and download the latest version here )

Kim: I finally managed to get the manual. Thanks. While the S differs from the S2, I may get some useful info on the functions that are shared by both models.

The aperture is stuck on f 16 and I need to figure out how to place some alcohol on the blades. What a loss if this fine lens can only be used at f 16.

Yes, the aperture ring turns, but nothing happens. Is this problem repairable?
