I exchanged emails with them a couple of weeks ago - they said they received a batch of R-D1s, checked them for all the common problems, and had to return most if not all to Epson for various reasons. They said they'd contact me when they had stock again.
In the meantime I bought a 2nd hand R-D1 with CV 28/1.9 and 2 extra Jessops batteries from an auction for £1170. It arrived today and physically both body and lens look just great.
Just wanted to congratulatre Nick on the purchase (i'm assuming it was the same one I was watching on ebay)...had a small emergency that kept me away from my pc for teh last 6 hours of the acution.
I know I have the the same Avatar as iUser and I will change mine since he has
it longer than I have mine.
Just have to create something else, but I will.

At least it shows that I made my own version
and my camera........I only have it since three weeks or so.
Thanks to this forum and Sean Reid's review that I knew what and where to get it.

Love at first sight! And the transporthandle is so cool.
This cam is really working like I was used to do with my M6 (that I used to have)
and my Pentax 6x7. So analogue.
I spoke to RW a couple of days ago. The stock that was returned is due back soon but has all been provisionally assigned already (that might be the refurb/ex-demo stock they mention).
However, they now think that they will be receiving a good number of R-D1S's at a similar price to the R-D1...
