I feel almost undressed if I go out without my watch. I don't wear one in the house, and when I'm at work I take it off so it doesn't scrape against the desk, but going out without my watch? That's just wrong!

Like my vintage RF cameras, I have a modest collection of vintage 1940-60s, Swiss manual and auto watches (mostly military and divers) which I rotate daily. I guess I've worn a watch since I was in middle school and feel naked w/o one on my wrist. I can't wear a ring, bracelet, etc. They bother the hell outa' me.

I'd never wear a quartz watch--just too modern for me. They're great timekeepers and fine for others though.

I've worn one nearly all my adult life. I suppose if I had been born ten years later I might not wear one but I both like the way they look at how simple they are (or can be). Sure I use my phone to check the time, say when I'm in bed, but it's faster to use a wrist watch when I'm in the street...

Only watches I love are mechanical/automatic - vintage and modern. Have a small collection and add to it when I can. Have more watches than cameras, thats for sure. Would love to learn how to restore them - so many great old ones out there, but no time to learn such craft.

I love classic watches...

Just can't quite part with the cash to buy one though.

I love watches. I've a couple of nice ones too, a Baum & Mercier sports watch from the 40'ies, and a IWC gold chronometer from the 60'ies. And a number of other not so nice watches. Only problem is my skin hates watches, or anything containing metals of any kind. So I can't wear them. :(

I absolutely love them. I can't handle going a day without wearing one. A mobile phone just doesn't come close, and I don't like to be tied down by my phone so don't have it on me all the time.
Currently have an automatic Oris with a plastic "glass" that's pretty badly scratched and a strap that desperately needs replacing. I'm really looking forward to getting myself a manual Stowa Marine when I finally land a new job.

i wear a bertucci with heavy nylon strap except during very hot weather. as light as it is (milled titanium case) the strap quickly gets soaked with sweat; unconmfortable. i

do use it to time development and fixing ...

I answered "Love them", even though that may be an exaggeration - but I certainly don´t hate them....

On several occasions I have recognized members from here at fora that deal with watches, fountain pens and bicycles. I think that RF users in general may have an inclination towards using things that are functionally well-proven and long-lasting.
The fact that such things often have a certain beauty, probably is what makes us begin to use such words as "love" when we talk about them.

I have quite a few watches that I rotate. Some have amazing craftmanship, similar to old Contax or Leica cameras. My first "real watch" was given to me by an Iraqi President when I was a Sophomore in college. It was a science competition and my project was on dairy products distribution in Baghdad. It is an all mechanical "Ginsbo" watch with days of the week displayed either in Arabic or in French. When I went to high school, I sometimes took with me my grandfather's pocket watch from the 1940's. It was always off by 30-60 minutes, but I loved that watch.

I like wearing a watch. I use watches to teach statistics. "What is accuracy and what is precision..." I would ask in class.

For a man watches are a piece of jewelry as well as instruments. I have always had positions that required adherence to time therefore a watch for me was a necessity. It needed to be reliable and accurate. Cheap watches doe not meet those requirements and pulling out a cell phone (especially in the days before cell phones) is cumbersom.

I am a big fan of wristwatches, so much so that I have 12 of them.
Some people collect cameras, I collect watches. :D:D
