Two actually. A wooden one (easy to clean) and a granite one (for harder materials that need to be ground, not crushed)

I have the green thai granite one, it rules. I mainly use it to crack pepper though.

I have small cast iron one. Used for spices etc.
I did want a granite one but my wife thought I wouldn't use it much, which I do.

Small ceramic in the studio for chemicals and such.
Marble in the kitchen for spices.

I should think many (most?) SE Asian households have at least one- essential for chilli paste, amongst other things. I also have a pharmaceutical glass set -not used- just sits there looking "pharmaceutical"

not exactly me, but my mom in Indonesia.. I love the traditional chili "sambal" that she makes..
