Who Paints ?

I both paint and shoot, though they give me entirely different kicks. When I'm a good photography groove I get an adrenaline rush, whereas painting is really relaxing. Very different (thought) process.

I went to school on a scholarship for both painting and photography. I have a few older paintings out there - but for the most part I haven't picked up a brush in years.

I still sketch a bit, and occasionally do some spot illustration with ink and a brush. But photography was my first love, and occupies my personal work at this point.

I have a few crossover pieces - sx-70 manipulations and some mixed media and encaustic works that incorporate photography into "traditional" media. But honestly - the pieces I was doing were so time consuming, and frankly not that popular in the galleries. So I've tapered off, saving the techniques I learned for an idea that requires them.
