.....just throw on an old Kodak Series V metal hood and this lens takes on a whole other look

I have one too, and I think it is ugly from any angle.:D

Haven't used it yet but this ugly puppy seems to get pretty good results from others.

I swear the hood makes it look cool.......
...i did just develop a first roll of film with this lens and the negs look really nice.

Im more likely to take it out in public to shoot with now that I have the hood.
I like the results. Hope to print some soon, I'll post em when I have em

I have an old Kodak Series VI hood with a push on 42mm adaptor which basically fits all of my lenses... any Canon with 40mm threads, Jupiter 8, Rigid 50 Summicron, Nikkor, Sonnars, just an jack of all trades hood.

that sounds cool, I just discovered these hoods and bought this off ebay for about $8

I need to find one of those hoods. Never thought of that hood working for a multitude of lenses. I now have a Canon 100 f3.5 from dexdog in the recent and continuing give away threads, that takes a 40mm filter, a J8 too.

I have a smaller adaptor and use the same hood on my Canon 35/2.8, and am looking for a 1.25" adaptor to use it with my Retina.

Jack of all trades.

Here is my saved Ebay search.

Remember, the hood is just one piece of the system. You also need an adaptor ring, there are several sizes, which screw into the hood. I use the Series VI hood, pes has a Series V which is smaller. You will also see Series filters, which will fit in the hood/adaptor unit.

I use the same set-up. The lens hood makes the ugliness of the I-50 a "80"on the ugliness scale [out of 100]. Without the lens hood, it has an ugliness score of 95.
