About 75% of the time using pocket cameras. Not so much with M6 or OM1n or herd of Nikons.
Definitely with this guy though.

It took me only 25 years, but I'm gravitating more and more, almost completely, to just using the 35mm focal length and B&W film. Been several years since I shot any color. Keeps things simple.

I've got a Rollei 35SE. You can have any focal length you want with it as long as it's 40mm...:roll eyes:

For nearly twenty-five years I used only a Leica M-2 fitted with a 35mm Summicron (Version 2?) lens. Made many photographs that I still include in portfolios, working sets, etc.
If I had to choose just one combination of body and lens, I'd probably do the same thing (except that I might have to opt for an M-A as it's getting harder to repair M2s, or so I'm told).

I use a 35mm lens most of the time.

Q "Who uses a 35mm (or 40mm) lens only?"
A Probably thousands of LOMO Smena and Cosmic Symbol owners but I doubt if they even think of visiting RFF...
FWIW, a while ago I picked up on eBay a Lomo 40mm triplet that had been mounted on a Zenit 39mm base. I had to recalibrate the focus scale as it ignored reality but it was better than I expected on the M9.
Regards, David
PS And I use the 40mm on the old CL a lot and have done for decades.

I became fond of the 40mm experience after buying a new Minolta CLE with its 40mm Rokkor. Very useful field of view... I also have the 1.4/40mm Nokton SC, and the 2/40mm Ultron SL Aspherical in Pentax KA mount. The Nokton (not a type II) smears its corners on a digital M while the Rokkor does much better!

I can say that I cannot tell the difference between a 35mm and a 40mm lens when actually photographing on the street. The FOV differences are only arithmetical and internet chatter, not in real life photography. And, my style of photography dictates the need for instinctive framing and composition, including any foot-zooming, as I am raising the camera to my eye.

My M5s need red dots!
I started with a 50mm 'cron and my M6TTL, only to realize that I really wanted to use the larger frame lines. My first 35mm lens was a Konica Hexanon (that I still have). After that came a collection of Zeiss lenses, one 'lux and one CV Nokton f1.4, attached to different Leica bodies.
Oddly enough, my favorite prime with my Fuji X-Pro2 is a zoom (18-55), and very often I like using it wide, or in the lower half of the zoom. But then, one impressive prime is the 23mm f1.4 (35mm in film), that I still have.

I'd show my M2 rig if it had a Summicron, but I've pretty much glued a Canon 3.5cm f2 on it.
I don't know why I haven't sold my 50mm lenses, I guess they may be popular again someday.

I do on my Leica M2 with a Canon 35mm f2 and on my Sony A7II as well.

Here's my rig, and a photo I took with it last week at the downtown LA protests. Right now 35mm is my go to focal length, I shot with a 40mm for a bit, but I could never really get along with it. Not as clean a focal length as a 50, and not enough width as a 35.
