Well, we have an Evil SLR forum under non rangefinder cameras. You found it. And you should have enough posts to realized we do talk about SLRs when the spirit moves any of us to do so. It's not taboo. The thrust of RFF is rangefinders. Other types of cameras are talked about nonetheless. We speak of MF folders and LF. It just isn't the main topic. Even DSLRs once in a while. Other types of cameras are specialized in other places, and you may see some of the posters here in those other forums, using the same tags.
I don't care but I don't see a screaming need for it either.
EDIT: Maybe I do care. I pretty much like things here the way they are.

I said yes. I find it less confusing to put it there. And more egalitarian.

The list is getting a little long, but yes, I would definitely like a link!

No.
First, I am one of those who are tickled to pink when the powers that be added the "Evil SLR" sub-forum.
Second, SLR and RF are to me like Yin and Yang, balancing each other in harmony (sometimes dis-harmony).
However...
This is a Rangefinder Forum, where RF cameras ultimately rule the day. Everyone who spend just a little time here will find the sub-forum, it's quite popular. No need to call for unnecessary attention.

I think all the forums should be listed. Just seems and silly not to, since the forum exists and is probably the only one not listed there.

I like the athmosphere here at RFF and I like my SLR´s and DSLR´s just as much as I like my Rangefinders so I think it is a good idea!

I voted that I don't care, and for the most part I don't. But you know what? Put me down for a soft no instead. The internet is about finding your niche; Rangefinders are definitely niche.
Why would we want the link at the side? What purpose do the side links serve? I mean, what actual useful purpose...

I agree with Shadowfox - this is essentially a RF board

I still don't get...should there be also Evil DSLR forum?
Guys, RFF is kind of unique RF resource, why make it too universal? Each season asks for different boots.

Sure I'd like to see it happen, but when did RFF become a democracy? Did I miss the anouncement?

Shooter of Film...
I don't have a problem with a link or two for SLR/DSLR's...I just don't want to hear all the crying from the hardcore RFer's in here...
I mostly shoot with a SLR but at times use a RF...
And I also enjoy the other topics available in here so I can come on in and share but not always have to talk about Rf's
If the Hardcore RFer's can agree on the addition then maybe it should exist...
Someone should post a thread with a poll asking how many in here do own a SLR...
Do you currently own a SLR ?
Yes...
No....
Keep it simple and to the point...
You could also add...If "Yes", How many ?

I'm glad! And I will tell you why. People who are into rangefinders by and large have a certain attitude towards photography, one I find appealing. These people value spontaneity over technical excellence, process as well as product, beauty in design and not just functionality, simplicity over unnecessary complexity. They like FILM. They're resourceful, do their own repairs, and appreciate the obscure, unusual, and forgotten technologies that most photographers aren't interested in.
All those people are here. And when I want to talk to people about SLR's, I don't want to talk to SLR people. I want to talk to rangefinder people who ALSO like SLR's, because they value the same things I do in photography.

The best camera is one that still works!
I like the fact that we have the SLR forum but don't personally feel a need for a link in the left of the main page.
Considering Stephen's attitude towards things non rangefinder I'm surprised that the SLR forum actually exists. I suspect he like Joe would prefer not to have it but he also realises that alienating SLR users would be foolhardy and detrimental to RFF as most members own and use the 'evil' camera on a regular basis.

I voted yes. Amidst the huge galaxy of rangefinder forums, having a link to SLRs at the front page, and the related forum as well, cannot be but a sign of self confidence, openess and wide vision.
It will further help RFF to maintain its membership, which is not RF-exclusively, and continue making new members. It will help newcomers the transition to RFs.
And if the misfortunated "Evil" adjective, given to appeace those who are reluctant to the SLRs within RFF, could be dropped - it will be a healthy sign of maturity.
Btw, a Konica rf forum is needed too. But this is another story.
Cheers,
Ruben

Personally, I think we should have it, if only for contrast and because SLRs compliment rangefinders so well. If we have to get rid of it (at least on the left) though, maybe we could replace it (on the left) with the "other rangefinders" forum (that is now semihidden). Maybe we could even replace it with a forum for 120 scale focusing folders (something we don't have at all). There are a lot of posts about Bessa 1s and Welta Perles and such in the 120 RF folders forum now. Uh... wait a minute. There is no "Evil SLRs" forum on the left...

Yeah. "Evil" is kind of strong. Maybe something like "Despicable" or "Contemptable," or "Mildly Reprehensable" would work better.

Well same here, but using vintage SLR cameras I feel more connected to the rangefinder folks than the people at dpreview.
The forum is already here so it makes sense to have quick access from the links at the left. Thats all.
