Who wants the blue badge?

I noticed the Zeiss Ikon SW has a blue badge instead of a silver badge on the body.
See that the SW's blue badge?

I think I like the blue badge more . . .
wondering if anyone feels the same?

Even Leica has the red dot logo.

Wonder if's possible to replace my logo with the blue one?
I think I will get in touch with the dealer and see if he can get one, at what price?

So that's why they made the SW. They had to do something with all those blue badges that they originally made for the ZI - as shown on the early prototypes. ;)

Actually I agree. I like those blue badges too. But it seems that in the end they decided to go for the understated look. Simple elegance in contrast with that gaudy red dot. :p

granted I don't own a zeiss at all, but I'm not terribly fond of the badge regardless of its color... being so far to one side reminds me of a flagpole or something. the Zeiss Ikon text is what i like.

Having the logo seamless with the design is quite important. The Contax II has the blatant front plate, but the majority of old Zeiss Ikon cameras have the company logo stamped on the leather. That works for me. It's nicer that way.

The Blue badge looks like an attempt at uniformity, to share a common appeal the Leica's red dot has. If I could ever afford a Zeiss Ikon (which I hope I will sometime) and the choice was blue or silver or black... I'd not choose blue unless there was a monetary incentive involved ;)

I'm not a fan of the red dot or the blue logo. A camera should be simple and clean and, ideally, not catch the eye unnecessarily IMHO.

My Leica MP doesn't have a red dot. ;)

I really only care about the blue/red raised dots on the lenses. Those make it really easy to change lenses even when it's too dark to see what you're doing...

- I have raised this issue here before. The blue badge looks very good and Zeiss made a blunder not having them on their first ZI cameras. What about adding them on a up-dated version?

I quite like the look of the blue badge but can you can add one to the ZI? Is its black/silver logo embossed onto the top cover itself or is it just a glued in logo like the blue one? If its embossed on then it would look weird with another stuck over the top. If you can remove it then it should work.

Well I think the true test of a good coloured badge is if owners feel a constant paranoia thinking that everyone is looking at them and their camera (thieves in particular) and must cover the badge up with black tape to make themselves more inconspicuous!
