Sports photogs used it for filming baseball games - double plays, etc. You would have three lenses focused on 1st - 2nd - home ,etc and be able to get the entire action. Not possible for three cameras. I had a special gearshift lens that was prefocused the same way - you could jam into gear and know you had the focal legnth needed.

How can it possibly work on a regular Leica body with regular Leica lenses?
Registration seems to be off by at least 1 millimetre...
