I'm happy to find this forum just as I'm seeking to rehabilitate my old GS645W after years of neglect. I'm mostly digital now, but if the picture's important enough to pay for film, it seems important enough to step up to this format. And this still seems like the handiest, most portable MF camera available.
The camera's in the shop now. The repairman says the film transport mechanism shows "a lot of wear," and I wonder if it wasn't work out when I bought it 20 years ago. It's spent most of its life on the shelf, with a few trips into the field, followed by more time on the shop bench. Seems like every 10th roll of film I put through it got jammed or missed frames. Still, it took some great photos, carried easily and considering the current prices, it may be my only camera that ever appreciated in value! The repairman has been looking for parts a week now. Do any of ya'll know where we should be looking for these parts? And who's the heap big guru of F645 repairs and restorations?
