Hi Guys,

I'm sorta in the market for a M-4. I saw this one on Evil-Street and have been following it.

My question to those in the know....Why are there any bids? The lens?

Don

Good, I just saw Don was looking at Kim's camera.

You forgot your link here Don, but I don't think you need to risk an ebay transaction with this one available here.

"Which one is "this one?"

I've seen it Kim....

My problem is I have to build up a little cash first, that's why I'm not bidding on the other one. I don't mind a camera that's been used, especially a Leica. I just bought a Canon L series 100-400. I shoot mostly airshows/airplanes.

I'm just lusting after an M-4 with a 35 and a 90 though.....

No hurry. You might want to check out some of the photos on my website. 😀

Additionally, there might be no bids because this camera is listed in the

"Listed in category: Cameras & Photo > Film Cameras > 35mm SLR > Leica"

SLR category.
The seller (probably) has little or no clue about what he is really selling, if he is unable to properly classify it as a RF.

True enough. I've seen worse. Like the screw mount lens description guessing the "the lens gets longer when the thing is turned so it must be zooming."

I had no trouble finding it earlier when the link was missing. A search of all categories for Leica M4 brings it up.

We'll know in an hour & a half. Could be a good one that gets away.

Are we at the point yet where it is understood that this is NOT a scam auction and perhaps some here (NOT ME, BTW - really!) might prefer that folks just let the auction take its course?

I sometimes wonder if this is a ploy, a purposeful mislisting to whet the appetite of savvy buyers (or those who think they're savvy). Actually, I was thinking about creating an ebay alter ego: a disgruntled ex-girlfriend of a too-cool-for-school artist/photographer/rock musician, who, in a fit of rage, mis-lists her boyfriends precious cameras.

I never said it was a scam...

I never said it was a scam...

I never said it was. I'm trying to learn about Leica's and simply wondered why there were no bids on this camera with less than 2 hours to go. I wondered if I was missing something. That's all..don
