Why are you a photographer?

I took a photo, got a kick out of it.
Been getting that kick ever since & just never stop thinking about it or carrying a camera just 'in case'.
I think the word is addiction.

Richard - love Insecta!

Coz a man needs a hobby, and it's less dangerous than woodworking.

Seriously... I like producing the images. +My wife loves 'em. That's about enuff for me.

I originally only bought a bottom line Nikon SLR and kit zoom because I had a job that involved a lot of travel and thought it would be good to take snaps of places I visited. Unfortunately, its become an abolute obsession.

I love the act of communicating to others through art. It expresses the human condition in ways words cannot, which is why I began studying at the university to be a pianist years ago. I have always loved the instrument but could never become accustomed to playing for hundreds of people at a time. Walking on the stage and seeing a sea of people staring back while you can feel the heat from the lights was too much. I did it for a few years but realized I was going to end up dead from the stress and stopped. I still play for myself, friends, and family. Photography allows the artist to "perform" in solitude. I just wish I was as good at making photographs as I am at playing the piano!
