hey, krazyklod
it's a great deal for the money, any R*A really... I loved mine and I will surely pick one up as soon as I will get a chance.
it's as good as any Leica, Minolta RFs!

I've reduced the price on my like new boxed chrome Bessa R in the classifieds here:

I used a Bessa R for a while, it worked fine, but I prefer a more substantial camera (don't drop it). But it was easier to load in the dark, so I used it almost exclusively for HIE.
Of course the main advantage is that they are cheap - good ones are easy to find for around $200. CV charges close to that for Nex adapter!

Why not? Incredible value for money. But more money does get you a better camera (ZI or Leica). It just depends on whether the 'better camera' is worth the extra money to you. To some it is: to some, it isn't.
Cheers,
R.
Better really is a vague term. My Bessa T is lighter, cheaper and faster to load than my old M6, the M6 is better built, no question, but thats where it ends. I like a Leica as much as the next man, but they aren't better, maybe 'nicer' though.

What makes them Better cameras?

You get a pretty red dot, and better build (and the weight that goes along with it). You also get a cloth shutter and other potential problems that go along with age.
Leicas are lovely cameras, but they aren't better, they have pros and cons just like every other camera.
I'm glad I owned an M6, if only just to get the Leica mystique out of my head, I sometimes miss the feel in my hand, but as a camera , it's nothing special.

Im not even sure its a better build. I have lots of old cameras no problems. Time will tell if the bessas last. So far mine have.

The R4A because it does not require external view finders for wide angle lenses.

I got an R2m, an R4m, an Ultron 2/28, a handgrip and a lens hood (all used but in excellent shape) for about 200 € less than I would have had to spend for a used M6. The cameras are so nice that I just can't imagine a (rangefinder) camera dramatically nicer.
