Why closed threads are outrageous IMO

So, my question is, how badly do I need to insult the above poster so I will be removed from the membership list and won't be tempted to log in and ruin another otherwise good day. Any direction you could give me on the proper phrasing will be appreciated.[/QUOTE]

Your insult would be inefectual, as he has left RFF for good. I am considering the same action.
I have watched from the sidelines and can only say one thing, I'm glad the computer has an off switch. :p

John, I would be extremely dissapointed not to see you around here. Especially since I don't get out to Dundee much. You were one of the first people to welcome me here over a year ago.

I am, and have been, involved on forum web sites dedicated to other interests (nothing sordid I may add!!), and for some reason they all seem to go the same way. I was beginning to feel paranoid it was me, but have been assured by friends, that they have found exactly the same.
I think the difference is that in the real world (as opposed to cyberworld) you can avoid a certain type of person. We have all met them in clubs, pubs and at work, you all know them, the type that hijack every discussion or chat. they are always louder than everyone else, and their point of view is the only point of view.
The difference is that in the real world you can give them the "cold shoulder" as does everyone else, and they get the message and drift away to annoy some other unfortunates.
In extreme circumstances a good thump on the nose usually helps their departure, but however it is done they are left in no doubt how people feel about them.
I think the web allows this type of person to feel they are being heard and getting their (the only ) view accepted. In actual fact they aren't but in the short term it satisfies them to think that they are, but the forum suffers!! :bang:
Strong moderation by a web master can help, but it is VERY tiresome for them to have to do this.
I have to admit I use the "ignore" option in a few cases. I often wonder if these people are aware that they are on these lists, it might help if they could be made aware of the number of people who have put them on such a list. Not names just the numbers, then perhaps they could get the message quicker that people consider that they are a "right pain in the rectum!!"
In the meantime I will pay limited visits :(

And thank you Bob for your thoughts!! :)

Yay!!! Time to celebrate! :D :D :D

Wouldn't say that, members leaving is not good for any forum. What starts as a trickle, usually ends up as a flood. :(
At least from your title, no one will report you to the Trade Description People!!
