Why I still love film

Terao: I don't have to look at 40-year-old K'chromes; some of my earliest Kodachromes are over the 30-year mark and look lovely. Then again, my earliest E6 'chromes aren't a lot younger, but still aren't the worse for wear (Kodak seems to have actually gotten its act together from that point forward). Properly-processed (can't overemphasize that part) C41 is supposed to have been much-improved archivally around the time I started shooting with it in earnest (roughly four-five years ago).

Ywenz: Fantastic portrait! It's not just the 'Mat, it's the mojo.

Trius: Yep, the thrift-store beat is the best! Tha't my game plan. :)

Ywenz, that is a great shot! I still have my Yashica 124G in the darkroom from ~40 years ago. Shot a boatload of film through that baby in high school. Whew, does that bring back the memories, and the smells of fixer.

@Amateriat: Have to say my Dad's 'chromes are in better condition than the super-slow Agfa stuff he used to shoot. They're all in good enough condition, certainly fine enough for scanning with only minor restoration...

@Ywenz: Ooo, very nice. I always liked my 'Mat, the only thing that put me off it was not having an MF scanner at the time...
