Why is this Leica so cheap?

At KEH, even bargain rated items are great and the equal of an Excellent elsewhere. In my experience.

Colluci's guide has it at $700-825, so it must be so expensive because it an anniversary model?

Agreed. BGN from KEH can go as EX++ at the auction site... However, their rating is mostly from its cosmetics, not the mechanical condition and I have had a few occasions that although they look better than what was graded, it did not work correctly... But they always accept returns in such cases...

Not cheap, but not expensive either. Chrome M4Ps are rarer than black ones, and this one is a brass one (recessed windows). And you get older (larger) 50/35 framelines, which some prefer over the M6 lines. This is litteraly the only M with older 35/50 framelines (as in M2 and M4) and 28/75 lines.

Best,

Roland.

Not in LN- condition, the closest M6 I can get at keh.com is in EX condition for 1299$

I bought a BGN grade M6 chrome classic in the low $1000's range off of KEH. The only thing "wrong" about it was a bit of the chrome finish on the top plate was worn more than the rest of the camera, but otherwise great condition. Just gotta be patient for the right one to come along :)

No need. Sam is one of the best sellers I have ever dealt with. He prices everything very fairly. It is probably sold already. :D

Yeah I have also bought from keh in BGN gradet conditions. First I bought a Contax slr camera, it looked new except for a small ding on the corner and it worked 100%. I also bought a 150mm Zeiss lens for my Hasselblad and it has a little grayish color on the focus ring and the shutter ring is not as smooth as my other two lenses but it is nothing to complain about.

I´ve also been looking at this M4 rated BGN.

For a user, I think I would go with the cheaper, probably better, M4. That's a pretty good price.

i've been trying to sell an m6 ttl .85 for weeks for $1100. in my opinion, an m6 is a much better camera for a beginner.
also, i think it's smarter to buy the most recent camera you can because of the CLA factor. a 30-something year old M4 in like new condition is likely in such condition because it hasn't been used and will need an expensive tune-up.

and i would agree that $1099 is a bit steep for an m4...

Well I just bought M6 classic here in the classified today :D:D:D:D:D

Now the looooooooooooong wait for the mailman :(

But while I´m waiting I´m gonna look for a lens for it :)

There's a black M6 listed in Mint/Immaculate condition at Cameta Camera for $1099. No connection to them other than having bought from them in the past... Come to think of it, where HAVEN'T I bought from....?
