Why isn't the Fuji X series in the Rangefinder section

In my book, anything that uses a window not routed thru the optics to compose your subject is a rangefinder. With the exception of TLRS, of course. And probably a few more exceptions I can't think of at the moment.

But you don't use that window to find the range to the focus target. So how does that make it a rangefinder? You can call it a "direct view camera" logically enough, but merely having a window does not make it a "rangefinder".

Seems that the Fuji proponents are sensing a stigma to the X100/XP1 being Not Rangefinders that isn't intended. They're not rangefinders, but they're pretty awesome cameras.
