Oh.... I hate to admit this, but I just got a Nikon D7200 for a project, and I'm really liking it. I discovered a couple of things:
1/ it's a lot smaller than the D300 that I don't carry because it's too big
2/ autofocus is nearly instantaneous
3/ high ISO performance is great--EI8000 B&W is better than Tri-X--much better
4/ with A priority, it's FAST; much, much faster than my M4s
5/ with the User settings right on the control dial I can switch quickly from color/strobes work mode to B&W available light fun mode.
Do I like nice open shadows from photos shot in low light at home at 1/200? Yes, I do! Anyway, I've been playing around with it and like it a bit too much. I almost brought a Leica home for the weekend. . . . and then didn't. Just the D7200 and a couple of lenses.

Very good approach, IMO. I too make a choice of gear to carry, then make exposures suited to what I'm carrying. Next time out I might carry something different and see different appropriate opportunities. At the end of the day, there will be those people who always seem to make a wonderful picture from whatever they have with them. I'm not one of them, but I can try to learn. It must be wretched to carry gear for every possibility, and no single camera and lens can do everything. I have learnt to be content with making a choice of camera and lens and going out to take the photos that follow from that choice. Now I just need to get better at it!

Well, if you don't like EVF's, you're out of luck with Sony. Your only option would be a used A900 on the Sony side (the A700 is cheap, but a bit limited compared to newer cameras).I don't like the Sony finders.

Yeah, it's gonna be the D3300 for me. great VF, hi-res sensor, and the option of going old school with Nikkor ai glass in Manual mode and sunny 16. They were so cheap for black Friday! And me with no cash!Well, if you don't like EVF's, you're out of luck with Sony. Talking of wildlife, how do they know we have only the baby P&S with us? It seems universal that this is when they come out and perform...
