Other Areas Why no Southern California club?

I'm just wondering why there isn't a regional club here for LA/OC? I'm sure there's plenty of locations to shoot, lots of film fanatics, too.

I've joined some groups via Meetup.com, but a lot of groups require money for model shoots (something I want to participate in sometime but I don't want to spend a lot of money right now) or they're more digitally oriented.
 
I wouldn't mind driving from Vegas to L.A. on a weekend if there was some kind of a gathering setup in an interesting locale... always up for shooting and meeting new people.
 
i might be interested although my weekends are slammed solid with kid functions. i live in north la county...valencia....magic mountain-ish.

Depends on traffic. Google maps says it could take as little as 1hr and 17mins. At worst it could take well over double that.

I think anyone who lives in LA/OC realizes a fair amount of driving might be required for a meetup anywhere.
 
I would come if the group convened in the northern part of LA. I'm allergic to the insanity that passes for a transportation system there.

If you build it they will clog it.
 
I'd be up for a gathering of any sort...
The LA/OC area is a big one and any location one could come up with someone's going to be doing some driving...
I was at the Farmer's Market meet and I enjoyed meeting other RFFer's...
I wouldn't mind doing it again but somewhere else...
 
As far as a Club goes..my guess is that we are too wide spread out that finding a meeting place that would be good for everyone would be impossible and with today's schedules even harder to agree on...
I would be happy with once a year meeting either to sit around and discuss cameras/photography or anything else or try to do some fun shooting...
 
Last year I was in grad school and had to stick with the books. Ive since graduated but Im running for election now and that takes a huge amount of time. I would make an effort to meet annually unless its like really far out in Malibu or something like that..

Traffic: seems to me the earlier the better.

Another irviner here, i saw someone at a ralphs grocery store with a torn shirt and an M6/M7.. anyone here?
 
Would anyone be interested in meeting even if it's just for lunch...(you can still bring a camera if you want)

i'm down to meet up. dude, even if we don't meet up i'm writing down this list to try out, you've got some killers spots here according to the yelp reviews
