Hey folks,
I've been scouring the internet looking for different lens options for the XP-1 since the Kipon adaptors are now available.
My favourite all-rounder focal length on full frame cameras is usually 35mm.
So, I started looking around for options and decided that the Zeiss ZM 21/2.8 fits what I'm looking for.
However, I'm hearing a lot of mixed reviews about the performance of wide angle M mount lenses on the XP-1.
On the flip side, I've read that people have a lot of success with using M lenses.
Being the impulsive kind of guy I am, (and possibly due to the fact that I am thrilled with the XP-1's performance) I decided to purchase the Kipon adaptor and the ZM 21/2.8!
Of course, now I'm really nervous to find out how it will perform.
Anyone had any luck so far? It seems like lenses in the +50mm range work quite.
I'm also interested to see if Fujifilm will have some sort of secret fix with their own adaptors.
It seems strange to me that Fuji would advertise the ability to use M mount lenses with an adaptor if the ability to do so is very limited.
Any thoughts?

I don't think they advertised this point. Once its adapter is out and it doesn't perform up to spec, then we can all complain. Right now, it's third party adapters which have nothing to do with Fuji.
My guess is this will have similar performance as it does on the NEX...unsharp corners, and perhaps color shift.
Wide SLR lenses are better choices, albeit larger, but cheaper.

it looks like some people are getting fantastic results with their ZM lenses, but I still haven't seen many samples with the 21/2.8.
Found a few shots with the CV15mm! There might still be hope for this sucker!!

Thank you, I had been searching for samples of this combo and couldn't find many. Those look pretty terrific.

These shots do not appear to be with the 15mm. In fact, it says "Despite the exif info, all these shots where at f1.2 on the 35mm."Found a few shots with the CV15mm! There might still be hope for this sucker!!
