wide angle rangefinder ?

A cheaper option would be a Bessa L and an external VF.

I use an R2A, but find using 25mm and 15mm a pain as I have to meter through one viewfinder and view through the other. I'm considering buying a Bessa L for these two lenses. Metering is much easier as the LEDs are on the back of the camera. I would go for an R4A/M but can't afford it and want to save my pennies for a Leica.

If you want to forego focusing, there is always the $9.95 Vivitar Ultra Wide & Slim. All plastic with a surprisingly good 22mm lens.

Otherwise, I would agree with the Bessa-L + a wide angle lens. I would zone focus. The depth of field of a 25mm or a 15mm lens is quite large. It's not a rangefinder, however. In fact, the Bessa-L doesn't even have a viewfinder.

I bought a 15mm Heliar and a Bessa-L off Gandy about eight years ago. Nice combo. Total cost was about $325, I think.
