Leica LTM Wide Lens recomendations

Leica M39 screw mount bodies/lenses
Roland,
It seems that the CV 28/3.5 is extra-good, if I can call it. I don't have such a lens, but several RFF members seem to view it this way.

John,
I have the 28mm/3.5. It is an excellent lens, but the 21mm seems to have an even better reputation about the lens.

Raid,

I don't know much about these lenses, but posted both links here in case the original poster was interested.

I gather from looking at other threads that the 21mm is on its way to you. Looking forward to seeing some results from it.

All the best.

Count me in as one of the RFFers who loves this lens. Small, sharp, and very, very good w/ b&w. Terrific lens for landscape and street.

The Canon 28/2.8 is even tinier, though.

Thank you, John. I bought the 21mm lens based on your tip.

I traded some stuff with David, and he partially sold me his Kobalux 28mm/3.5. I love it. It is a sharp lens that gives beautiful colors with color film.

Has anyone seen a 28mm Canon lens for sale anywhere? I tracked one down finally at KOH only to be told it had been sold. Been looking for 2 months now with no luck.

Thanks John - I know of Kevin, was hoping for something a bit less costly. I have offered something on one of his lenses, however. More than I wanted to spend, it looks excellent, and I can stop my quest if he accepts.

Got one.. a bit more than I thought I'd pay, but I'm happy to have picked one up.

the wide viewfinder is very expensive, I'll give up the wide lens. But the CV 15mm/4.5 is included view finder, maybe i can consider it

I thought 50mm was enough for the view angle. I found many nice picture was shot by 35mm or 50mm.
28mm is not easy to get a nice picture. But we can get the better safe shutter number with 28mm. 28mm at f1.9, we can easily hold within even 1s

I'm another advocate for the CV 28/3.5, especially when used with the CV mini finder. The package in silver looks right at home on a screw mount Leica. As others have said the CV lens performs very well optically and is built like a tank. With the mini finders 28 and 35 frame lines you are all set if you do get a 35 lens. It is maybe more than you want to spend but worth saving for IMHO.
