I have been considering a Widelux for some time but it appears that any example that comes up for sale will need work.....I seem to recall that getting a repair/CLA for these beasts is a real headache. I have searched the forum but can not find the info....so does anyone know who works on Widelux and has some input??

Thank as usual for your help!!

Ditto Bob Watkins at Precision is the best repair person in the country for everything not Leica or wooden. He's the real deal, American service center for Linhof and Arca, Noblex, machines his own parts, makes special Hollywood rigs, very honest, trained at Sinar before going on his own. Not cheap but very professional. He's the DAG of big cameras ;-) Guess who did his website?

I also can recommend Bob Watkins at Precision camera.
Fact is they are very specialized and you should stick with the best. After I found a F6b it had some banding issues and a local shop was about 1/2 the price of Precision for a CLA so I went with the quick local turnaround and of course it came back worse! I then bit the bullet and sent it off to Bob and it's worked flawlessly since. Be weary as most repair shops will say "sure we can give a widelux a CLA. Good luck, K

I was in contact with precision recently and was quoted $300 for a CLA on my F8.

And I'll add that Bob told me that after a CLA he would run at least one roll of film through the camera to make sure it was ok before returning it to Oz. That's very good service IMO. :)

Thank you all very much..... exactly what I needed to know.... as always this is the place for useful and current information.
