Wow, Tony, what s nice surprise to find a thread about one of my pictures! Thanks!
The story behind this picture is that every few years for the past 8 years, my wife and kids and I vacation in Florida.
Since our first trip to Florida it's become a tradition to wake up very early on the first morning and go to the beach, watch the sun rise, take a first swim of the vacation, and then go out for breakfast (the time zone difference from Denmark pretty much dictates that we all wake up early naturally...)
The first year I had the Widelux F8 with Kodak Ektar 100 (this picture; my daughter is clutching her blanket and teddy bear), in subsequent years I've had a Leica M9 with 28mm Summicron, 50mm Noctilux, and 90mm Makro-Elmar-M. I will try to dig up some sunrise pictures one of these days...
THANKS again, what a lovely honor, especially since I have been away from this and other computer forums for some months (years?) and have only recently "returned " to RFF.

I like the expansiveness of this shot, it does not just appear like a private family vacation. It could also be the beaches of Greece or Italy with refugees who just landed from N. Africa, looking back at where they have come from, and where they are going.
