will a 4gb card work?

Will a 4gb card work with the Epson R-D1, with the original firmware or the update to 1s (which does not indicate that it changed the size of the cards read).

I'm finding a card read error with a 4gb card, and assuming that it's not the card, but the size. And have no problem with a 2gb card with the camera and original firmware.
