It's much the same as Maltese... As far as I can see you can get it in the US at $9 a kilo, https://www.amazon.com/Guerandais-Coarse-Salt-Guerande-Pound/dp/B004Y18G8E?th=1

That is fantastic !
I will give it a try.
Thanks for the "heads-up" on the Breton sea-salt.
It is a small world now, due to the wonders of the world wide web and Amazon

Apologies for dragging cameras etc into this thread but - if you buy the right milk in French supermarkets - the red plastic top will match the red dot on your camera.
And they are a lot cheaper than the usual lens caps...

The last two times I've tried tearing it. What do you perceive as the difference between chopped and torn? 'Cos I see little or none, which is why I started chopping it in the first place.
Dear Roger,
it's the «juice» that chopping makes, unless one is really skilled (perhaps it's my lack of skill?!); IMHO, chopping is completely O.K., when a «mushy consistence» is O.K., but otherwise I prefer tearing fresh herbs.

Dear David,
not only in France! These excellent red caps can be found basically everywhere in Europe, wherever you have a «DESPAR», «SPAR», and so forth: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spar_%28retailer%29

Hi,
But you have to be careful to get the shade of red right, otherwise it will clash with/not match the red dot.
I don't know what to make of the link as there was no mention of Eurospar in Wales...

When I had a 21 Biogon with no back cap I used the top of a spray can of (as far as I recall) deodorant as a back cap. It wedged into the back of the lens perfectly and was deep enough to hold/protect the back of the lens.
