will CV 50/1.5 block the VF or RF on Leica iiig

I am thinking to buy the CV50/1.5 for my IIIG as a fast combination. ANyone has experience with same set up?

I use the CV50/1.5 on my IIIa, RF is no issue, VF yes. I have to use the VIOOH or the VIDOM finder with mine.

BTW- The VIDOM makes this setup look pretty sexy. 😎

Thanks for the answer. So I think I will look for a smaller lens instead for the IIIG.

I have a chrome Canon 50/1.8 on my IIIf and the combination looks great and functions very nicely. Small amount of VF blockage without a lens hood, but an external VF would be mandatory if you want to keep a hood attached. Don't know if the IIIg finder would be much different as I've never peeked thru one...
The Canon lenses are great performers and seem to hold up well over the years. Prices are still reasonable and you can't go wrong with a clean example.

I have just this set up and find the combination works well. There is some cutoff in the view finder at the bottom of the frame - the fuzzy edge of the lens peeks just off centre at around the level of the 90mm frame marks . I don't really find this to be a problem when actually shooting though. There is even cutoff on m2 when using this lens but it is still my favourite lens on either camera. The nokton is heavy though and makes the IIIg feel a bit 'nose heavy' it's not so noticeable on the M2. On a neck strap it will pull the camera so it points at the ground. Using a wrist strap I find the the handling to be ok . Looks quite nice too 🙂

And brainwood, the CV50 looks good on a IIIG. I will try once I am able to find one in local.
