i can't stand the suspenders either...

but first i want to say a few words.

this forum has become a sanctuary for me, a special gathering place with some very special people who meet here.
i don't want to start naming people cause you know i'll leave someone out and the last thing i want to do is hurt any feelings.

lately we have experienced some 'growing pains' but we have been mature and wise (for the internet) in how these potentially confrontational situations have been handled. i am pleased and proud, truly.

it has been 2 months since i had my heart attack and still barely a day goes by where someone does not ask how i'm doing. my p.m. box holds 500 messeges and there are times when it is near full. (not a typo)
the generosity of the membership is overwhelming.

new members are drawn to rff for the uniqueness and niche area of interest and most stay because of the vast wealth of knowledge and warmth that is here.

i'd like to say thanks to jorge for asking me (seems so long ago) to be the moderator at his then new site.
you're a good boss and i appreciate the free reign you have offered.

and that's it!!

thanks all and i hope and wish you all the best at this holiday season.

And thank YOU, Joe. You have been a great moderator, and good example. You set the tone for this forum.

Ditto on the experience, Joe... and congratulations on your 10,001 posts! 🙂

You're a very nice friend too! 😀 And your benign authority contributes to maintain this place as lively as it is.

Joe
Best of health.
May your number of posts keep climbing and NEVER reset.
;-)

Joe, this is a very special site, and you're one of the key reasons it's stayed special. Thanks for all your work, your insights, and even (for the most part) your humour [kidding] ...

Thanks for a job well done.

Gene

Toto, we're home. Home! And this is my room, and you're all here. And I'm not gonna leave here ever, ever again, because I love you all, and - oh, Auntie Em - there's no place like home!

Gee Joe, You and I started with this forum within a couple of months of each other and I think that I just broke 200. One of us obviously has a lot more to contribute than the other.

Keep it up and keep shooting. You've made this a wonderful place to come and visit. I just regret that I don't get here often enough.

Joe, buena suerte on your recovery. Many of us on this forum no doubt have experienced what we might call cardiac events, and for those of us who have, we have that special understanding for what you've gone through. Mine was a simple stent in '01, a mere nothing in comparison.

You've done a wonderful job here on this forum. The quality and civility of RFF is what first attracted me.

I'll be in Canada next spring. I'd like to see the 'P' as I've never seen one in the flesh.

Regards,

Ted

I have a friend. A weird, quaint guy. Half the time I don't understand why he does what he does (because it is weird).

But it would be hard for me to say I've met anyone else who is at the same time more tolerant, helpful and able to reach out positively to people as this guy.

I guess Joe reminds me of him. Good going!

Hey, Joe, I'm on the phone with a friend from Edmonton as I'm writing this----okay, I gave the phone to the wife. My Edmonchuk friend says +2C right now.

I didn't know that you had a heart attack. I'm sorry to hear that.

Anyways, I sent you a polital joke a few days ago and I now know why you haven't responded. (Full mailbox.)

Hope you are getting better.

Frank
