Will the M6 function without the battery?

Because batteries run down and there are places where you can not get them. It's nice to know the camera will continue to function with out it.

John, it does make sense to know what the camera can do without batteries. Just joking in response to the thought of buying one and then finding the meter a liability!

You know even here in Texas in a couple of hours of driving I can be places over a 100 miles from the nearest place with any kind of batteries but AA or D cells. One also can just carries a camera with out a bag and making an expedition of it. Just grab the camera a couple of rolls of film and head out to see what one may see.

Not to beat a dead horse, but you can obviously order batteries online, or buy them the next time you're in Dallas or Fort Worth. Then the next time you go out, you can put extra batteries in your pocket or in your socks or shoe or whatever. Point is, if batteries are important enough, one finds a way to bring them. 🙄

On the M6 classic remember to set the camera to B when not in use to save the battery.
