I was wondering if there has been any news of an XPan III. Is the XPan II going to be the last panoramic rangefinder from Hasselblad? Any chance Fuji may come out with a TX-3 for which there will be no Hasselblad equivalent? I know we are at a point where film cameras are fading fast but there are some manufacturers still producing new models such as the Zeiss Ikon so there is hope right?

Hasselblad is at least collecting feedbacks and suggestions for new/existing features. That was the status last November. No official statements about future development available

Were they taking suggestions from customers or dealers? I wonder if Leica's financial troubles has given them second thoughts. I'm not sure whether to get an XPan II or wait. If I could find a new or like-new TX-1 somewhere I wouldn't mind waiting.

They were taking suggestions from users.
What are you missing in the XPan II that you look out for a III ?

Mainly I just don't want to spend $$$ if a new version is right around the corner. Not having owned an XPan (yet) I don't know what I would change. Maybe move the tripod mount so that it is centered with the lens. What would you change?

Just a few small things.
I'd prefer to have a second tripod mount too, centered. The actual one is quite handy for vertical shots.

Hi, this is my first post as I've just recently joined this forum.
My advice is to go out and buy either an X-Pan or an X-PanII TODAY. If you are waiting for the latest and greatest improvements, you will wait forever, as the perfect camera will never be made. Personally, I bought an X-Pan just before II came out. Any regrets? No way. This is a fabulous camera. Whereas the improvements in II are nice, they don't allow me to take better pictures, and the money I saved allowed me to get the 90mm lens. If you wait for a possible III to come out, think of all the picture opportunities you are missing right5 now. Duncan

A very healthy viewpoint, Duncan, and welcome to RFF! "Buy it now"... hmm, that does have a nice RFF ring to it!

Well, if I could afford one I would. I'm just hoping for a price drop as there was when the original XPan was discontinued. I wish I could find a TX-1 but I haven't had any success in locating one.
