I noticed some of these today in my "uploads from your contacts" section on my Flickr page. The Library of Congress has been posting some pretty incredible images since they first joined Flickr, and these are some of the best yet. The quality is astounding for 60-70 year old photos, which speaks to the strength of shooting large format.

Incredible indeed. I especially liked the shots of Sidney Bechet and of Bill Coleman.. In reality, they're all stellar photos. My only wish is that someone would be more diligent in updating the subjects information - some of these fine folks passed away well over two decades ago!

Yes, according to this one (one of my favorites) Frank Sinatra is still alive and well!
