winding/rewinding tight.

My Fed2 has a problem with film binding, or at least it feels like it. Does misalignment of film cause this? Earlier roll was very tight to toward the end when winding. Later a roll was very tight when rewinding the roll. Both rolls were fine when I developed them.

I've experienced the same thing and even ended up with torn leaders and bad frame spacing.
I attribute it to bad loading. I think you've really got to get the film in there straight.

The clutches can be quite firm on these, giving a hard time when slipping on winding (probably worse nearer the end of a film as it slips more). When rewinding you have to work against the clutch. There's a few threads on the site about this easy adjustment.
