We seem to be ignoring inflation and so on.
Here's an example; the Leica CL was only available new for a few years in the early to mid 70's and was then discontinued. By the late 70's secondhand prices were the peak price at about 300 UKP*.
If we upgrade that price by inflation then today it should cost something between 1700 and 3500 UKP, depending on how we calculate inflation.
So I guess they haven't eally peaked yet and haven't recovered much from their lowest price when digital became important and film was scorned.
