Wishes to LEICA: What camera you would buy NEW if exists

I want a modular digital/film point and shoot. A smaller version of the Leica R9 BUT with a fixed lens identical to the Konica Hexar 35mm. Then I want a 50mm version of the same camera.

After using the Leitz UR Replicas that are modified to use the correct lenses and advance film properly I think as a “camera” it is a delight to use. I think if Leica redone and remarketed the UR Replica as a working camera....it would attract much attention.

I surely would want one. Probably couldn't afford it, but that's another question...

The existing Leica CL body with the right lenses ( Voigt 10mm, Color Skopar 28mm, Pentax 43mm, M-Rokkor 90mm ... or thereabouts) does it right now, without having to wish for anything that doesn't exist. Handy size, superb imaging, traditional Leica styling, lovely and simple controls, and a truly excellent 24Mpixel APS-C format sensor.

All a FF version nets is the need for larger and heavier lenses IMO. Tremendous value for money, and a fantastic camera.

m7.2 with no DX coding and a 1/4000 sec shutter. Ok if it is metal bladed.

m11 with a hybrid EVF/OVF finder similar to what Fuji does with the Xpro3. OVF with RF patch, converts to EVF at the flick of a switch. No need for AF so uses existing m mount lenses.

A Leica with the lifetime support that should come with buying a camera that costs as much as a Leica. Something along the lines of the Mercedes-Benz program where you have the car (camera) checked over once a year, or an oil change done or whatever, then you have full factory warranty support for the next year, including a loaner if you need it during repair. Aside from that impossibility, Leica will never get another cent of mine for anything new.

Yeah, I don't see buying a new one for those reasons.
Once bitten..

I`m always surprised that Leica hasn`t addressed this glaring omission in their marketing strategy .
I mean it`s so bloody obvious .

If you were a Leica stockholder..would you want to offer a lifetime warrantee on every friggin camera that breaks down...
Nope..no way Jose...lol..
Just rake in the bux..

And call it a day...
Thats a way better profit and loss plan..
