No way to know the future, but I suspect that Roger's got it close to right.

Yes, I do. In fact, you were pretty adamant about it in many threads. But the only legitimate way for me to back that claim up would be to go back and reference the exact thread(s). Since I do not want to allocate my time to such a trivial and in the end egotistic pursuit, I'd prefer to let Roger's version of the story rest as it is. The M9 is a fact, and I appreciate Roger's contributions here and elsewhere over the years!
In any case, my original interest in this post was that the X100 changes the waiting game for those interested in digital platforms for M/LTM lenses. Reactions around here show this to be the case. (This thread was, for me at least, NOT about the merits of giving up the M8 for the X100).
Of course, I cannot know when and if there will be a new and moderately priced dRF, but from a marketing point of view, I'd say the X100 is going to show or has already shown the viability of that market.

No you don't. Since the M8 came out I said it would come eventually (which was exactly what Leica said too). It is impossible using a DSLR sensor with decent image quality, but that hasn't changed either.
Cheers,
R.
I, for one, am glad this camera came out. I was seriously considering an M9... but now I'll just keep using my M8.2 and get one of these to fill my new camera appettite.
