Just rambling....

Left my Leica M2 at my usual repair guy today, for a CLA. I found that 1/1000 speed is capping - there is a thin unexposed strip at one side of the negative. Not much, but irritating... So off it went today.

I'm already nervous, although it's been just a couple of hours. And I *do* have other cameras - like a very nice Rolleiflex T I also got a few months ago, and only managed to shoot about a dozen rolls. Also several FSU cameras, all working (mostly).
And the Yashica Lynx...
But I'm missing my M2 already!
Funny how it has grown on me - I've had it less than two months, and ever since I bought it, it's always with me, ready to shoot.
I guess I'll carry the Yashica Lynx as a replacement, but that's not it.
Maybe this will be an opportunity to exercise the Rolleiflex, also a very good camera...

Oh Rolleiflex, definately. Man can live on Leica M and Rolleiflex alone you know.

Actually, I've turned to Leica after shooting almost exclusively in MF for the past year or so.
I've used a Speed Graphic, a Flexaret, a Yashica Mat 124G, and finally the Rolleiflex T.
But Leica is hard to beat - it's not the size of the negative, but that elusive "something" ("pop", 3D effect).
Although my Speed Graphic produces negatives in 6x9 cm size, I still like photos from my Leica and Summicron more 😀

It might be different with a Hasselblad, though - although I'm not planning to get one. Leica is more portable.

Just as an aside...
It's not like I don't have another camera to shoot with - rangefinders are not shown in this photo. (I can post another one with just RF cameras, for those interested 😀)

If I had a caseload like this, my wife would select the nicest looking one to keep and throw the rest out!

She goes on "cleanup" rampages every now and then... 😉

I feel your pain. Essex is a great shop, but gets busy. My M2 is still not back yet!

no matter how many cameras we have to use while they are away, there is something disconcerting until all of them are home.

Almost all - I just got a Weltaflex yesterday (one of the TLRs in the first photo) - haven't had the time to check it out yet.
However, some get more use (like those missing from the photos, he, he, he)...
All the others were checked for operation, and had their shutter speeds measured. Two old Rolleiflexes are beyond repair - they just look good 🙂
I haven' t tried the old cute Retina (also in the first photo, bottom left).
I should use my Koni Omega more, though. It's a GREAT camera, although a bit on the heavy side 😀
Well, I promise to take some shots with it soon and upload them to my gallery...

BTW, my wife tells me I should open a museum 😀
Funny, it seems I've become a collector somewhere along the way...

Also, my Speed Graphic is not shown - it deserves a photo of its own, which you can see on my photo pages.

Now you see why I don't have a signature on my RFF posts, listing the shooters I have 🙂

Kris, no such luck (having them for a song) 🙂

Actually, of those three, only one is operational: actually, more like in mint condition - the leftmost Rolleiflex T (the one with lens cap on).
Next to it is a beaten and inoperational Automat, and next is an E model, I think. It *did* have a Xenotar 2.8, but it ended on my Speed Graphic - see my "SG lens hacks" page 😀

Rollie 2.8F is a bit on the expensive side (says the guy who only recently paid 700 EUR for a Leica M2 with Summitar lens 😀)

LOL!! I'm beginning to think that maybe there is something wrong with me. This is the first time in my life I've had two cameras, I've always traded in an old camera for a new one. And the only reason I have two right now is that I was unsure whether I would like a rangefinder so I kept my SLR.

Now that I know the RF is the camera for me I'm going to reluctantly sell my SLR system, but, and I am not on a slippery slope here, I am going to buy another RF body...

I need it for a long photo project I'm working on. One body won't cut it unfortunately.

i only have 2 cameras.

well, only 2 that you can change lenses on.
there might be another 7 or 8 if you count the small fixed lens cams.

of course, having 2 cams i think i need at least 2 more as back ups.
and then there will be a need for a couple of extra lenses.

been there done that!

had an original mamiya 645 with 2 lenses and then a mamiya 6 with a couple of lenses.

loved the bigger neg and loved the 6 but find i'm shooting more and enjoying it more with 35mm.
