hey bill, just (kinda) kidding you. i need that black lens like i need another hole in my head.
but like you the idea of such a great deal going to someone other than me is hard to take.
plus i gotta stop buying and start using.

please don't feel bad cause i have a lousy sense of humour.

Guys... and I was concerned about myself!

You just made me feel sane!

After all, I try not to have more than 10 items in my watch list.

There was a day when I had bids on two 'crons 90/2. And I was scared! Fortunately, someone came to the rescue and snatched one. Then the other was snatched from my hands (when I finally had come to terms with the expense!).

Oh, well... right now, I only have stuff I may buy (film)... if I didn't have already too much. Plus, I need some salmon and it would be extremely unkind to dislodge it just to make room for kodachrome.

On the other hand, I can always eat it.

No, no, I got the joke - but like you, it is agonizing to see something so nice go for so little - and not to someone here! I figure if I'm not going to buy it, somebody here should love it up some.

On the other hand, I worry that if I tip someone to it - what if it turns out to be broken or a dog or something? Yikes, I'd feel bad.

I just kind of guess (to myself) that we're all pretty much eBay search masters here. Still, sometimes I find some SWEET stuff - and I'm the only bidder. What up with that?

Best Regards,

Bill Mattocks

i think it's just timing sometimes.

my thoughts exactly.

i do feel better hearing you say that you don't see much difference between the chrome & black versions.
as to weight, i prefer the look of the chrome so will live with the extra poundage.

i have to admit, i love the look of all that shiny chrome.

oh, i'm not bidding.

i'd be crazy to bid.

i have a p and a 7 on the way already.

and a bessa r.

no, i'm not bidding...

joe

Well, surely SOMEBODY from RFF is bidding on this? Sniping, perhaps? A little stealth action?

I can't bid on this. I'm skint. Really. Even though I have only the Bessa R for a LTM body. No backup. None. Sigh.

Bill Mattocks

True, it was very exciting. At least I felt better to see that it went for a couple of bucks. I'd have been gritting my teeth and muttering if it went for $145.

Well, I'm off to bed. G'Night!

I am not so sure...those are some nasty wrinkles on the shutter. I know that they are common, but still, I cannot believe it would not effect functionality, or at least durability somehow.

I saw that Canon 135 F3.5; it needed work and that means risk. I got my "needs work" Canon 135 F3.5 for half that! Damaged lenses and cameras can be repaired; but the repair price is going to run at least $70. If you can DIY it, and it is fun, it is worth it. If I can buy stuff cheap, have fun with it, play with it for a while, it will probably end up here eventually.

I did get another roll back from my $21 black Canon 135 F3.5: VERY SHARP!! It may have the edge on the Nikkor 135 F3.5 which remained in production virtually unchanged optically into the AIS series. Did I ever mention that 135's are underrated and EVERYONE SHOULD OWN AT LEAST ONE?

Joe, I have started printing your address labels two per page and keep one handy.
