I'm often amused and amazed at the verbal witticisms that are displayed in the forum.. I'm hoping for a little of that right now

I'm about to start a new photo project, but I need a little help with something pertaining to the title/description

can anyone come up with a noun that means 'photographer' or perhaps just 'visual artist' and sounds somewhat similar to 'tourist'?

By "sounds" do you mean in the actual performance of the word or "sounds" as in "that sounds like a hard day"?

If you mean sounds in the actual performance of the word, I have no idea. I used to have a rhyming dictionary, but it has long since been lost into the abyss.

Voyeur. My cousin calls me a voyeur for shooting street stuff. I explain the difference. Or the similarity and his misuse of the term.

You could always make up a word. When done skillfully, an invented word is often better and more easily understood than any other.

Take some words and get open a thesaurus. Voyeur, artist, fanatic, image, memory, click/snap, camera, lens, light, time, etc. Photography.

Mnemonic Preservation Fanatic.

Doesn't sound like "artist" or "photographer.

"Photo trekker" may not be in the bag as some one has that. How about "Shutter tripper." But the Beatles come to mind. "Lens walker"?

I was thinking of the "accidental" part of "accidental tourist" since Brett said he was wanting to allide to that...
Brett, what about simply translating "accidental photographer" into some other language?
such as:
"toevallige fotograaf" --Dutch

"τυχαίος φωτογράφος" --Greek

"偶然のカメラマン" --Japanese

I ran the phrase through Babelfish so I don't know if these make any sense to native speakers/readers of the languages. And I hope that they are not rude/smutty/offensive?
