It was interesting that the camera on the field right after the final second was a rangfinder camera....M9 I would guess?

Went out today to run some errands. Heard on the tail end of NPR news there were protesters outside the stadium & police was firing teargas at them. What was the protesting about?

Ride, dive, shoot.
From a tweet I came across.
And congrats to Germany! That goal was most artistic.

I didn't notice the M, but enjoyed the game and tournament.

Looks like a Zeiss 21/2.8?

Hell of a game. Watched it - M4 in hand - in Pioneer Square, Seattle WA. Photographing the supporters was great enough. I can't imagine being in Brazil, let alone on the field

you know you're a rangefinder addict when the most exciting part of the game is when you see a photographer with a leica.

That was Leica M240 + Leica 21mm f1.4.

I noticed the Leice , too during the TV report. I guess you definately want to catch enough of the backgound to make sure the context (Maracana Stadium) is obvious, so I guess 35 would have been too long. 21 makes more sense.

I did some screen captures of him shooting... the hood appears to be crooked?
Is this possible like with the 35 FLE, as it would unscrew in the other direction... I could see this being the case with a lens like the 28 Cron if the hood is getting worn out and the clips aren't holding it well to the groove/guide at the end of the lens.
I would have also guessed the 35/1.4 FLE. At first I thought it might be 21/3.4, but that lens would be a bit slow, perhaps. Not sure it's the 21/1.4 (which I have) and my impression is it's physically larger than what he was using.
I posted the screen caps over at Fred Miranda:

Would post here too, but I've configured my web hosting to prevent hot linking for all except a handful of sites and I'm not in a position to dive into and find those settings at the moment. Therefore, sorry for linking to another forum.
Edit - not sure about the lens, but maybe the 24/1.4? I believe the 35 Lux FLE hood has a cutout? In the screen caps there doesn't appear to be a cutout and looking at my 21 Lux, the hood looks quite similar. 24 Lux hood appears to have a cutout... as does 21/3.4, 28 Cron....
Anyway, not that it really matters, other than Germany won! Finally!
