If by "many" you mean a handful of Great Russia chauvinists, then yeah.

Personally, I that the blog-article I linked to provides a good argument for questioning that photo whether the writer is a Russian chauvinist or not. It hasn't been the first time that a Reuters photographer have been accused of staging or manipulating photographs recently.

Fernando, that LJ post is a great example of denier mentality. You see same sort of argument from people of all over political spectrum: moon landing hoax crowd, some Israelis on photos of dead Palestinian babies etc. Good clue here is they only try to twist the factual material that goes against the case they sympathise. You'll never see them claiming that Hamas rockets aren't dangerous, or that photos of Ossetian victims of Georgian incursion were faked. However when "their" side is found not up to moral standards they ascribe themselves, they prefer to cope with cognitive dissonance by downplaying or denying the facts.
