I know this is pure indulgence on my part but I just wanted a black one in immaculate condition.

I would love a black one as well, but they are silly expensive ! Found the "champagne"
colored one in a thrift shop for $2.99 with a leather case ! They ask $80 to over $100 for those lovely little black models :-(

Just recently several brand new in box Ricoh GR21 's sold for under 1200.00
Japan you can get much better deals on cameras and Yahoo auction is not so bad .. I prefer it as you are dealing mostly with people living in Japan ....

They are indeed somewhat a cult classic now and I have even seen the Champagne ones selling for over £50 on ebay. You did well at $2.99.
