RayPA used to start up critiques most weeks, sometimes more often.

Basic rules were one photo from each participant, and limit of five people.

Everybody commented on the other four photos. People who were not part of the thread were asked not say anything at all.

It worked very well, in my opinion.

As a feature which highlights images it could easily be revived if somebody has the energy to do it, and if others contribute.

I liked it well and participated in quite a few.

But it was always the same small circle of people.

Roland.

Ditto. And sometimes it felt like the same small circle of photos. By that, I don't mean the style, I mean sometimes it felt some really just wanted to post something, not engage in a critique for discussion. And others would take it another step and just found faults without much constructiveness to contribute.

I didn't know it was gone. I participated in one, and I get the feeling that outsiders (apart from the participants) are prohibited or afraid to comment. Which to me is kinda strange. I want as many people who cares enough to spend time writing a comment to be able to comment on my pictures and/or others which I have commented on.

Roland and Gabriel, I got the same feeling also, I don't know, I guess we need to select participants with the same level of enthusiasm, maybe?

I would be interested in participating in something like this. In fact, I came searching this section of the forum today specifically to see if this was happening. I am also planning to start a foto project later this year and was feeling out how I could get some feedback/discussion from others, eg what venue/thread, etc.
