thanks.

i really need a 30mm lens.
anyone have one for sale or know a good price?

Price is very low currently. They have been going for $3000+.

Or you can get my Distagon 35/2.8+adapter for less than half the price :)

why wouldn't you bid on it if you're looking for such a lens?

The dealer is reputable and the price seems good.

i was just wondering of people's opinions of this seller.

i thought i saw a thread about someone who had horror stories from such a seller. maybe it was someone else in hong kong...

I agree...seems like a good deal from a seller with positive feedback.

The current price seems great, but I don't know about the seller.

I have a like new 30, 45, 90 and Xpan II body that I am interested in selling. Unfortunately, I am not interested in parting out the kit.

Best,
Paul B.

That price may look good, but the 30mm is almost useless without the center filter - the seller mentioned that the CF was scratched - you can't buy them new anymore! Not sure what the buyer's going to do if those scratches are at all bad.... rather him than me.

I recently bought a spare center filter for my 30 strictly as a emergency only backup. It has some light hairline scratches on it so it was only $200. I did a test and compared both my mint center filter and new spare one on a 20mm lens on my D700 and literally saw no difference in image quality, including shooting into the sun.

So the scratches may or may not be that bad in this case. Now, as far as bad ebay sellers and 30mm XPan lenses, try this one on for size:

"Shutterblade" is usually really, really good with gear, ratings and honesty, but I had to turn them in when three times in a row, they sold 30mm Hassy XPan lenses in auctions with the filter that was included with it in a seperate auction at the same time!!!

In other words, they took the original manufacturers supplied center filter out of the kit to profit even more, effectively selling the buyer a useless 30mm lens. Three times, they pulled in between $2,700-$3,000 for the filterless lens and $400-$500 for the filters and never did the buyer win both, it really ticked me off.

Don't buy a 30mm Hassy XPan lens unless you know where to get the center filter or like light fall off, it will be no good to you, especially if you plan to shoot slides with it. This is why I have two 58mm center filters for my 30mm XPan lens.
