The number of my chrome Nikkor-S.C 50mm f/2 is 653635, so it isn't exactly early. Rotoloni states that the early ones, starting at 622xxx, are over 6oz and the latest ones, ending at 661551, are 5oz. As an European, I don't know what "oz" means, but I'll look it up.
Erik.
We have the metric system in Japan (and Australia too) but I do know that "oz" is the abbreviation of ounce.
1 ounce = 28.3495 grams
5 ounces = 141.7475 grams
6 ounces = 170.097 grams
BTW the OP hasn't logged in to RFF for over a year, and his last post was in April 2010, so I doubt he'll mind the side track to his thread.

just put my late black 5 cm 1:2 nikkor-H serial 759xxx on the balance, it weighs 135.4 grams, just great for compactness on the S2.
it's one of my favourite 50ies ever besides the V3 pre-asph summilux.

Yes I would, now if they would just go back to making more lenses with that mount
again.

No, I would not get one. I do not own a Nikon RF camera. Nothing personal.

Of course no one will buy it if they don't own a Nikon camera.

Things have changed. I now am waiting for an S3 2000.

But what's the change? Would you mount one of these clumsy things on your S3 2000 when you already have a 1.4 Millennium Nikkor? (Pardon my personal bias – it might be showing!)

No, it s the other way around. I may mount a "clumsy" Nikon 35/1.8 on a fine Leica camera.

You can't install the clumsy S-mount W-Nikkor-C 35/1.8 on a fine Leica camera using the Amedeo adapter. The clumsy lens rear group will hit the fine camera rangefinder pulley. No, it s the other way around. I may mount a "clumsy" Nikon 35/1.8 on a fine Leica camera.
The clumsy S-mount W-Nikkor-C 35/2.5 fits, though.
Then you can source a fine LTM W-Nikkor-C 35/1.8 or the recent fine M-mount conversion of the clumsy 2005 lens but prepare your pesos, amigo.

I do not have the 35/1.8, so I am spared such a trouble.
My Pesos were spent on a S3 2000 set .....

I voted no since I have the Nikkor inner mount one already.

If it will work well with an Amedeo adapter, you would have the lens also for the M mount. I have heard that this lens is an awesome lens, but I already have several excellent 50mm lenses.

I bought the 35/1.8 in ltm.

Looks like clumsy pesos were sourced eventually...

No. Assuming the size would be similar to the M version, it's just too big and heavy.
