Would you trade your Epson R-D1(s) for a Leica M8(.2)? I'm actually looking for someone that would trade for my black paint M8.2.

No, not anymore. Financial considerations aside (I mean, you can get a whole bucket of Epsons for a Leica... So if you can trade one-for-one, you should, and if only for getting several Epsons when trading back...) - this aside and also 6MP vs. 24MP, I think, the Epson has something to it, that even Leicas (at least digital ones) can not give.
Currently I don't have either, no Epson, no digital Leica, sold the last digital Leica two months ago, because for me, Leica lost it's Mojo recently. Don't know why, but the direction, Leica is developing to, just doesn't speak to me anymore, and currently, I don't miss my M240, since the X-Pro2 is more "it" than the M240 was... My Epsons, however, I had four over the time, and I still miss every one of them.
Lenses, though, are a different matter. My Summilux 35 ASPH. FLE... The best thing I ever got into my hands.

So you would trade your M8.2 for an R-D1s?
No. I'd keep the M8.2. On the other hand, I'm not sure I'd trade the other way either...

I purchased a new RD1s in 2005, used it for 3 years, bought a demo M8, then found a nice M8.2, sold the epson and the M8. Then the M8.2 developed "coffee stain" and I traded up for an ME. Still have the ME. The Epson was great, but the Leica felt more like it was built better in the hands. The black paint on the M8.2 felt great, I didn't mind the crop on the M8. It did bother me a bit on the Epson. The ME has given my no problems whatsoever. In the end I wish I'd kept them all! So this probably doesn't help at all. I'm on the lookout for another M8.2 if the price is right.

Nope. Not happening. No way.
It's a piece of history, the first of it's kind, it's the OG of DRFs. Even if I were to never take another image with my Epsons I wouldn't get rid of them, I just enjoy the aesthetics of them far too much. Heck, I've even thought of picking up an x just to have all three generations. Okay, maybe I'd like to pick up two x bodies so I can have the xG also but that's borderline silly talk.

Epsons, had one, sold it, regretted. Bought another, sold it, regretted. Bought a third and won't consider selling anymore. I'm even thinking of getting an R-Dx just to be sure I have a functioning one well into the future.

The M8 is not a 24MP camera. It's a 10.3MP camera.

Correct, I missed the M8 in the title, for me it was just Leica digital in general. The last one I had, was the M240, so...

I shot the Epson alongside an M8 for quite a while. I still have the M8.

I happened to find a guy from Singapore that traded his R-D1 for M8.2 with aditional cash, he seems to like it more and I prefer the Epson. Hands down the best photographic experience I've ever had (1:1 finder is amazing!) besides MF.
