here is a great story of a AP photographers search and follow up of a seriously injured Marine that she photographed in a MEDVAC helicopter in Afghanistan. The opening photo she made while holding the injured Marine's hand is something. And the story of her later tracking him down and following his recovery process is superb. It is a real feel-good story for the holidays.
