Wow, big flickr change...

They have been demoted. To find them

YOU > then look for the . . . on the far right, click which will bring up the likes of Map and Collections.

I was the same, I had my page set up for collections, not sets. The new UI doesn't even let you change the top bar from the preset 'Sets' to Collections, which would at least be /something/.

The way I see it, this is geared for the FB / Windoze 8 user, and too me seems Flickr is after the mobile market.

Yup.

Not happy either.

IF I feel images should be presented together, I'd paste them up to a single image myself. And in fact, I was planning to start doing so in the near future.

Now, my images are simply put side by side in the order I uploaded them.
The fact that they are put side by side connects and combines them together in a way that I neither intent nor can control.

Grouping them in sets or collections is useless too, since they are displayed as a great big pile anyway.

Yuk.

Time to rip them off Flickr and simply store them on my own website only. As I should have done earlier anyway.

Don't like it....😕
will have to see if I can play with it to my liking
I really preferred four photos on the Home page
Than hitting the Viewer with Photo overload 😱

I never liked the original layout but this one is much cleaner and easy to navagate.... Looks more presentable to me....

It seems these photo hosting sites are being heavily influenced by the likes of facebook etc ... photobucket comes to mind.

Thank god for Zenfolio.

Well I must be missing something because to me clicking to someone's stream now seems to reveal something with all the elegance of a google image search.

And the individual photographs have lost individuality.

How dull.

Looking at groups was already good before but looking at a persons photostream was horrible. Finally it's 21st century.

Flickr, good god, no thanks, I value my work. From what I have been reading, Yahoo is going to be working really hard at making Tumblr and Flickr become even more of a platform for Freetography™.

There are things going on right now that people are not thinking about that are going to ensure that work displayed on the web will surely become totally worthless in the next 5-7 years. Is this what you all really want, the chance for super talented people to succeed at becoming the next "Master" at a given art form to totally disappear just so you can "Share Your Photos: Watch the World" and get that giant scroll of empty praise...?

Flickr, what a bunch of effing garbage man, seriously.

I don't even have to read anything about this (and please know I did not read any responses above, so I have a clean heart in saying this) to know what's going on (not here, specifically, but on the web in general): tons of whining, people complaining they hate it, that the interface is ruined, that they're closing their accounts and going elsewhere (where, I wonder?), that all of society is flushing down the drain, etc. I just ignore all that and move forward.

However, on topic, I think the new stuff looks pretty nice, answers some of the things I haven't liked, and gives me some new things not to like. No surprise: they didn't ask me anything before they did it all. Perhaps I'm not the most important person in the world, after all. 🙂

It is not, however, the end of the world, as I'm sure some people will be painting it.

Atrocious and utterly insensible.

Juvenile javascript jockeys running amok, substituting good design and true usability with geewhizbang smegma.
