What am I missing here? Even with described problems and the guy won't take Paypal, a 50mm f/1.8 Canon Serenar is worth more than ten bucks. If I'd have known it was not going to get bid up in the last few minutes, I'd have tossed in a bid myself - and I have one of these.

Oh well...

And when I tell people I got this lens or that lens for ten bucks on eBoy, they say "I don't believe that, I never see any for that price."

It was USA shipping only. That takes out a lot of the non-USA buyers. A lot of Japanese-made goods in good condition go back to Japan based buyers.

Item Location : Precision Zeiss Quality, United States

LoL way to sell a lens.

I hope whoever got the highest bid gets that lens, and wasnt scammed out of a few tall boys at the bar.

I think the fact that this item ended on a USA holiday and was limited to US buyers may have contributed to the low end price.

I know that I have had my best luck buying on ebay items that end on a holiday or the week between Christmas and New years.

I will let you all know how my two purchases from that seller go down. I suspect part of the reason for the low turnout in bidding was due to where the items were listed. The seller deals mainly in old microscopes and other antiques. The Canon lens and Leica hood were both listed under "microscope Parts- Eyepieces".

If this lens does not fit your microscope, don't feel bad about your loss, but send it to me. I will pay you not $10.50 but a whopping $11. 🙂

Glad to see it went to an RFF member! Outstanding! Hope all is well with the completion of the sale.
