Hi guys...

ok, i made the jump a week back, and bought a whole g2 kit from tfelton. Though i'm still in the process of waiting for it, i figured i might as well post this now since this might take a while.

I'm looking for a G2 body (alone) to be used as a 2nd body for my school assignments which normally require both B/W and chrome.

The body should hopefully be in excellent condition with no drop/rub/dings/dog hair, etc on it. If you have the box and instructions, that would be a bonus.

If it's in black, that would be a plus too!!!

Let me know, you can drop me a PM here or email me directly at trevor (at) berkeley (dot) edu.

thanks guys.

regards,
Trev

The black one is pretty expensive compared to the silver version.
And I'm not so sure if the black paint is sturdy enough for real use, my unpainted G2 has scratches from rubbing against a TVS in the bag. This wouldn't look too god on a black paint body.

Midroll rewind is not a problem with the Contax G, there is a custom function for leaving the leader out after rewind and a small button on the bottom for forced rewind before the roll is filled.

hmm...I would snag a G1 body as the second body...smaller and lighter and looks better as well...make sure its a green lable.

hmmm thanks guys...

regarding the G1, is it true that the modified (green tagged) versions operate similarly to the G2 ? (AF speed, 35 compatibility, etc etc?)

I also heard that the Black version's paintjob gets chipped quite easily too... hmmmm

The G2 has an improved autofocus system. It projects an infra red beam in addition to image triangulation. There is a dedicated autofocus button on the back as well as the depress shutter halfway method. I have not used a G1 to compare the real world functional difference. :)

Where is this green tag located at?

I've been reading about this green tag in various places.
